3 Simple Search Engine Optimization Tips

Search engine optimization can help your website get noticed. Below are three simple SEO tips you should bear in mind.

Stay Away From Competitive Keywords
When you use a keyword research tool, you’ll be shown a list of keywords based on what word/phrase you entered into it. There will also be statistics shown next to the keywords, such as volume or competitiveness. What you want to do is choose keywords that are medium in competition because if you use keywords that are highly competitive, the chances are you won’t rank for them.

Link Building: Quality Trumps Quantity
The more quality links you have pointing back to your site, the better your site will do in the search engines. The key to link building is to focus on quality and not quantity. A good example of this is getting a few links on a high quality website/blog that focuses on the same niche that you are in, and not focusing on placing links on any old random website/blog you come across.

There are various ways to build links, such as asking prominent bloggers to write a post and include your link in it or creating high quality videos and placing a link back to your site within the videos’ descriptions and/or within the videos themselves. You can write unique articles that contain a link or two back to your site, and then you can publish those articles on sites such as Infobarrel and Hubpages. Those are only a few ways to create and to get quality links.

Do Not Stuff Keywords
Generally speaking, keyword density should be between 2% and 3% when you create content. For example, if you’re writing an article for your website and it contains 300 words, then your chosen keyword should be mentioned between 6 and 9 times. Anything more than that, and the search engines may consider it keyword stuffing, which is the repetitive use of keywords in content.

There are many other search engine optimization tips out there. However, the ones previously mentioned in this article are some of the easiest and most effective, so start implementing them today.
